What is Planning Poker?
Planning poker, also known as scrum poker, is a consensus-based estimation technique agile teams use to size user stories. Each participant holds a deck of cards with values such as the Fibonacci sequence, and every story is estimated by the whole team rather than by a single person.
The key rule is that votes stay hidden until everyone has chosen a card, then all cards are revealed at the same time. Because nobody sees the other estimates first, no one is anchored by the loudest voice or the most senior engineer, and the differences that surface spark the discussion that leads to a better estimate.
Scrum Poker Online runs the whole ritual in your browser for free: create a room, share the code or QR invite, vote in real time and reveal together. It works for co-located and remote teams alike, with no sign-up and no ads.
